"As of 30 May 2026, the 17th Ebola outbreak in DRC has 282 confirmed cases (264 in Ituri, 15 in North Kivu, 3 in South Kivu) and 220 deaths among confirmed cases. 19 new confirmed cases were reported on 30 May. The epidemic affects 22 health zones across three provinces, with Ituri as the epicenter. Response includes coordination, surveillance, laboratory analysis, IPC, and community engagement. Challenges include refusal of post-mortem tests, lack of treatment centers, and insufficient contact tracing. The WHO Director-General visited Bunia."
