"The Bundibugyo virus disease (BVD) outbreak in the DRC and Uganda continues to expand. As of 24 May 2026, the DRC reported 906 suspected cases and 105 confirmed cases, including 10 deaths. The majority concentrate in Ituri Province. Uganda reported 7 confirmed cases. Contact tracing is poor, and security incidents hamper response. WHO assesses national risk as very high in DRC and regional risk as high."
