"The WHO Technical Advisory Group on Candidate Vaccine Prioritization (TAG-CVP) met on 19 and 25 May 2026 to evaluate vaccine candidates for the Bundibugyo virus disease (BVD) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. Following the declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in May 2026, they prioritized homologous BDBV-specific vaccines from IAVI and the University of Oxford. Data on potential cross-protection from existing Ebola vaccines were also reviewed. The report summarizes recommendations for pre- and post-exposure study strategies."
