"On May 20, 2026, the WHO stated that the risk of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is high at national and regional levels but low globally. There are 51 confirmed cases in DRC, two in Uganda, and a US national transferred to Germany. Nearly 600 suspected cases and 139 suspected deaths are reported. The outbreak was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on May 17."
