- Vaccine candidates need more preclinical work
"WHO independent experts have identified three priority drugs for clinical trials in the current Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak in the DRC and Uganda: maftivimab (Regeneron), MBP134 (Mapp Bio), and remdesivir (Gilead). Obeldesivir is recommended for post-exposure prophylaxis. Two vaccine candidates (rVSV-Bundibugyo and ChAdOx1-Bundibugyo) require further preclinical work. The existing Ervebo vaccine (Zaire-targeting) may not protect against Bundibugyo."
