"WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, visiting Bunia in Ituri province, called for community cooperation to contain the Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus, for which no vaccine exists. As of May 31, DRC reported 906 suspected cases, 282 confirmed, 42 deaths; Uganda 9 cases, 1 death. Protests against burial protocols led to attacks on health centers. MSF warned the spread is outpacing the response, with hundreds of samples untested. Fighting in Ituri and aid shortages complicate efforts."
