"On 17 May 2026, WHO declared a PHEIC for the Ebola outbreak in DRC. As of 25 May, there are 101 confirmed cases and 10 deaths in DRC, plus over 900 suspected cases. Uganda has 5 confirmed cases and 1 death. The national risk is very high. No approved vaccines or therapeutics exist for Bundibugyo virus. WHO is prioritizing two monoclonal antibodies for trials and recommends obeldesivir for post-exposure prophylaxis."
