"On May 18, 2026, the U.S. CDC issued a 30-day order suspending introduction of certain non-U.S. persons who have been in DRC, Uganda, or South Sudan within the past 21 days, due to an outbreak of Ebola disease caused by the Bundibugyo virus. The outbreak is centered in eastern DRC's Ituri Province with imported cases in Uganda. No approved vaccines or treatments exist for this strain. The order aims to reduce importation risk while CDC conducts a full public health risk assessment."
