"Africa CDC published a fact sheet on Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BDBV), first identified in Uganda in 2007. It details the current outbreak in Ituri Province, DRC, and imported cases in Uganda. As of 20 May 2026, 543 suspected cases, 33 confirmed, and 136 deaths in DRC; two imported cases in Uganda. Case fatality rate 25–36%. Transmission, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention are covered. Africa CDC declared a Public Health Emergency of Continental Security and deployed response teams."
