"On May 21, 2026, residents in Rwampara, eastern Congo, set fire to an Ebola treatment center after authorities refused to release the body of a man suspected to have died from Ebola. Police failed to calm the situation. The outbreak has 671 suspected cases and 160 deaths in Congo, with cases in Uganda and South Kivu province. WHO declared a public health emergency. No vaccine or medicine is available for the circulating Bundibugyo strain. India postponed an Africa summit, and the U.S. imposed travel restrictions."
